SUPERVISION

Woodlands Consulting and Therapy offers clinical supervision to a range of clinicians. Supervision is considered an essential component to any psychologist offering therapeutic services. Supervision ensures good quality and evidence based services, safe clinical practice and that the psychologists skills are updated.

Dr Marilyn Sher has been providing supervision to a range of professionals including Clinical Psychologists, Forensic Psychologists, trainee psychologists and other mental health professionals (eg. Nurses, Psychiatrists, School Counsellors) since 2008. She is on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS). She is also an accredited CAT supervisor. Supervision can be provided in-person or online.

TRAINING

Woodlands Consulting and Therapy can offer teaching/training in the following areas:

  • Risk assessments i.e. SAVRY; START/START:AV

  • Adapting treatment programmes for learning disability

  • Working with challenging behaviour with clients who have developmental disabilities – Positive Behavioural Support

  • Undertaking assessments pertaining to fitness to plead and capacity – the role of the expert witness (basic level training generally for legal professionals to enhance their understanding of what the expert witness does in this area)
  • Supporting children and adolescents with ADHD
